Prior to showing that which was written by Dona Jones, the late daughter- in- law of Leonard Jones, we thought we would give a little history of the "Edwards" in the Nephi Jones Families. We refer to the first Edward Jones to arrive in Nephi, Utah was one we call Edward the First. who arrived in Nephi, leading the pack of others. We refer to him as that, as their were more to be named Edward Jones since 1852. The Jones' came from North Wales of the British Isles. After the Mormon Missionaries' were directed to preach in England, the British headed to Utah in droves. A lot of children were named after British Royalty such as Edward; William and Elizabeth. Edward the first was named like his father-Edward, and another one was named Edward, which the family called "Little Eddy", as he died young. Then Edward the first had two sons, one of which was named William and the other Edward, but other than his kids, other family referred to him as Len; Lenny and that is the Edward Leonard Jones of which his daughter in law wrote several years ago. She often refers to him as Grandpa Jones. If confused, Dona's writing will work it out for you. Dona writes of how much she loved Grandpa Jones. But both Dona and husband-Harold were great people and familiar with good work ethics and sharing their talents including their work in Civic Activity which included the Ute Stampede.

IT MUST BE THAT TIME FOR VOTING AGAIN-HOW DO YOU STOP TH0SE DANG SPAMMERS
I am very much a Trump supporter and even sent him a hundred dollar check when he first ran for President. But I went in to the County Offices and filled out another voting registration form. I am now an Independent Voter and can still vote for whom I choose, and put unlisted phone number. But they reminded me it didn't take effect until after the General Election. So the Spammers are having a hay day! I suppose that some of the callers are only doing it so they may have a chance at getting a high paying job for themselves, so they can learn the tricks and trades of those Politicians. For ne, I will stick to being Independent, and hopefully that will keep the Political Spammers away. I get about 1 to 2 a day and if I have't already got their name and number listed, I try to Block them or just Delete. One of the biggest pains of the past were calls from either volunteers or paid supporters' of Owens, now theirs people calling saying they are merely doing research. That was from one named Jim Luce, but some of the text give a number to call to get your money. Be careful out there, and yes some of those scammers are from people you may know, as they get .25 cents just for calling. My old flip phone doesn't display videos, but one guy named Nielson wont get my vote because of the telephone scam he does. Oh well, it is important to Vote, just don't get sucked in like many did with slow joe

JAYNETTE JONES-ALWAYS BEING TEASED BY HER BROTHERS, BUT THEY MAY NOW REGRET IT.
The Nephi Jones kids grew up in a family with little money. However, we always found fun, food and laugh with our great parents and her four brothers who hatched more than 10 pounds each. It must have been a whale of a Stork that flew in! As kids, we were like other boys in the rural town of Nephi, and wore Bib Overalls, just like the farmers, as we knew that was to grow in, and we would just roll the cuffs up which lasted a long time. We got along as we had different friends, who accepted us even though we may not have the they did. We could always hitch a ride to swim at Burrastons; swim and shoot Carp with our reels attached to Bow arrows. On the five male trek back to Nephi, we would pick up coke and beer bottles along the way, and often get a ride with one of our parents; Jack Howard or Bish Belleston that came along when it was highway 91.We often "thanked God" for the folks throwing the bottles out, as we knew they were driving in to Nephi for a stop, and afraid Jack Brough; Howard Brown; Sam Sperry or Ray Jackson was in wait, but few accidents were related to booze. We took the Pop Bottles to Aunt Erma at The Serv for 2 cents each, and the Beer bottles to the IGA for a Penny each. Being brought up in the LDS Church, we leaned the power of prayer, so of course I thanked God for the Beer drinkers! For kids that couldn't afford the cost of Baseball shirts, we would use boards and rocks to play baseball, and that is when I started getting my deadly Head Concussions. At the Old Hollow, the whole herd of town kids knew they could show up anytime on Saturday, where there were no homes, and we played Cowboys and Indians. Kids without dough could make a pistol out of a of board or knife or spear out of wood. Many of us only got shot in the hand like Roy Rogers or Gene Autry did at the Venice, and could keep fighting. When a kid had to go home, other fresh reinforcement would show up. Other days at the Central School,we would play Marbles or Jacks with the girls, as we would be teased by the boys, but the girls kept looking better for some of us! Before they got Weded, the parents of the Jones boys, Alma was set on farming in Nortonville and LaVon thought typing was were cut of Tea, and as youngsters, taught us boys as long as she wouldn't spread the word to our male buddies. The heavy set Stork somehow made the trip to our home about every 9 and a half months dropping off 10 pound bouncing boys. After trouble with medical issues -Maggie Veera was born, but as a young age she died, and along came LaVon, and the folks were happy, but us boys weren't. How is she going to ride a horse and deliver papers and wear a dam dress. Well, she wanted to be like us and hid her dam dolls and learned how to ride a horse better than us boys, and on her return to the 1885 Jones house, she not only made the house and yard beautiful, but could ride a horse backwards better than any of her brothers and still dressed up as pretty as her cousin-Tara Garrett, so as brothers, we all got together to thank her and she headed off to Nevada with her own good kids and grandkids. It is an all girls outing, so she may call one of her girlfriends left behind for.......BAIL MONEY. The photo below show weston trying to get Jaynette & girlfriend to be pushed over a back of a "loving brother"

SHANE JONES-A NEPHI KID WHOSE FACE TELLS ALL
Often times, body language tells the truth more than what most Politicians say in words with their forked tongues. Look at the younger photo of Shane Jones. He has the look of Mischief and he was able to succeed in that arena of fun. But if you look at the second photo where he was the go- to kid with his grandfather-Alma Jones; Uncle Kent Jones where he now lives and Nephew Justin Jones, Shane was the best worker and Tree cutter in the family. He also groomed in to a hard worker; Excellent Father of three kids and somehow this young kid turned out to be a grandfather. He had to move out to Mona to get away from the once easy going pace of Nephi, but Mona has now turned in to a Metropolis as bad as Nephi now has become. Oh well, life on earth and Shane turned out great and much help from a great supportive wife with Vicky. And Stetson will keep his folks hopping on their regular trips to Vegas to hand out Spam to the thousands of illegal urchins living on the streets, and no thanks to Politician's!

JUAB HIGH SCHOOL-1965 GRADUATION CEREMONIES
In the 1950's.and 60's their were about 100 students that went to Kindergarten and other grade school classes together. Back then, we were all like a family. We were the same but different, and like a family we took care of each other. There were no Special Ed teachers and we didn't need them. Each one of us took turns helping them along the way, even in High School. That way we learned to understand and protect them. We were confronted with older bullies in town, but often we did just like Andy Griffin would teach Opie, and would gang up on the Bully who would learn to leave our "family" alone. When some of us couldn't understand the need for Algebra and Trig, Barry Avery would take the unpaid time- walk to his home and he would try to help us and doing that assured us not to fail.
Many of us didn't play sports or in school functions as we couldn't afford it, but we supported our friends that could. We had just two school buses and most of us walked to school or catch rides with other parents. Some of our classmates died and some went off to war and as such, they fought for what we call Freedom, but they were awarded a higher diploma that what the rest of us received in a piece of paper. We were the Class of 65, and we always will be and one day, we can all go out and dig holes and play with heavenly marbles or shift gears and play Jacks with the girls. Heaven can wait for all of the Class of 65.

THE HISTORY OF THE LITTLE AMERICA RESORTS
As may be described in the Dream of Sheep Herder Stephen Mack Covey in the late 1890's, he was caught in a freezing winter at 40 below zero in the middle of Nowhere, Wyoming.
He thought of the same predicament of the exporters in Antarctica, and promised to himself if he survived, he would build a "Little America" that others may find themselves in. Forty years later the Covey Family herded their sheep off and built the small cabins; great and cheap food; pumped gas for cars at 19 cents a gallon. The cozy cabins became a Sanctuary for lost wanders. That first "Little America" was settled in Granger, Wyoming. When my brother-Hal Jones and I were part time truckers for ZCMI, delivering furniture to Wyoming, we always made a stop at Little Amerce and the Food Bar like the ones still at the Little America in the City of Salt. It was later sold to Earl Holding and his wife Carol and they made it a great team for a stop for Truckers and vehicles traveling along the road that would become a Freeway. To this writer, the Holdings weren't out to be millionaires, but only to Keep The Internal Promise the original Covey's wanted to do. That thought became a reality when I had the chance to meet Earl Holding during the Salt Lake Olympics of 2002. I was working as a Police Officer there and all Police and Military were supposed to be eating at a sector of the Little America. On a day, I was assigned to be at the Grand America -which were Hollywood folks stayed but most of my duty was at the Little America, which was heavily fortified as that is where the King of Norway and the like stayed. On the day in question, I stood guard at the entrance to the more Swanky Grand America, I opened the door for a man I had recognized, which was Earl Holding. He directed me and a cohort officer to come inside with him. I wasn't going to bark back. He directed us to the food bar and told the Manager to permit us there. I promised Earl we wouldn't arrest any of the Wall\y World Critters. He then sat down by us and we conversed for a few minutes. We soon found out he was a great businessman, but a Christ like gentleman who treated all people with respect and humility. During those Olympics, their were some wanna-be folks that made it to Washington as a Politician, but during the Olympics, I saw first hand what a great leader Earl Holding was. He is now passed on to Greater Heights, but taught his kids well as the Holdings of the Holding family are now owners of several other places such as Sun Valley. And by the way, at the time of his death, Earl owned all Sinclair gas stations and worth somewhere between 4 and 5 Billion dollars, and he and his wife worked hard for every penny they earned, at least more than any Politician that got it, one way or another.

A HAPPY MOTHER IS A GOOD MOTHER
This is a Mothers Day Card sent from California from Virgil Scott, not to his mother, but to his Aunt-Elizabeth Tolley Jones, who he loved very much. When love is true and unconditional, it is one of those bonding issues that can't be broken, regardless of the time or issues. Years ago when going through cards and photo's, I recall this is one of those cards and photo of whom I knew not, but my father(Alma Jones) did and we pieced it together years ago, but unsure of where I placed his photo or the envelope. We were not able to scan the beautiful writing on the card, but one could sense their bonding and it was dated a hundred years ago, for Mothers Day. And today, the Nephi Jones kids of LaVon Harris Jones expresses their love and devotion to our mother, From Weston, Hal, Kent, Gary and Jaynette.

HISTORY THAT MARGARET GAVE AT THE JENKINS FAMILY REUNION
As far as I can tell, at least today- this may be the last of the blog history of the Jenkins Family that I have came across in the thousands of papers and photos that my family and their Ancestors collected and buried since 1852. Two Zero boxes of journals, photos and papers belonging to the LDS Church was returned to the LDS Church in Salt Lake, but it was difficult to do, as the tithing receipts and Church attendance was often turned over and used as a family record, but a copy was made. I told the audience that had gathered I would tell how I obtained the Church records just one last time, as I had retold it three times to get the attention of the more people that came. When one of the 12 Apostles showed up, it was my last sermon! As some of the artifacts were the property of Brigham the Young, they were given to that Apostle. I also had Nortonville School Records as the Church and the School served as the same building as LDS pioneers often did in Ruralville, Utah. We also had Juab County Records, but the County Recorder at the time didn't want them, nor did the Juab School District, as before it was organized as such, it was done by Citizens and it was they who demanded it be made into a High School, so they were donated to the DUP Museum, and Nadine Blackett was tickled to have them. I have also sent photos back to Cornwall, England and North Wales as I had knowledge my grandfather went on a Mission there and he would send photos of his ancestors that "missed the boat" from Liverpool. Now as Paul Harvey would say(known only by your parents); Now The Rest Of the Story. And No, after ten years of writing these, I still can't figure out how to enlarge these DAM things, and When folks say "It's easy" they are liars! Give me back my old Remington.
HISTORY OF WM. AND JENERVA JONES JENKINS-BY DONNA JENKINS BARTON
The other day we wrote about the history of Jenerva Jones Jenkins. Today, we write the same, but different, as it was written by Donna Jenkins Barton, and gives a little more perspective of the whole family. To this writer, it should not only be of interest to the Jones and Jenkins Family, but to all folks that may become interested in our ancestors, as it is difficult to understand some of our life's today, but hopefully a guiding map for our future, something that to this writer; history buff and former teacher, is just not spoke of in our Public Schools today. As a student at all grades at Juab Schools, I loved the teachers but even as a teenager, I thought how worthless Algebra; Trig. and Geometry were, and still do and verbalized that thought to the Utah PTA President, who also banned men and other men from being in the PTA! From here on, Livingston Photo Scanned and provided me with an E-Mail copy, so it will be presented as written by the real author-Donna Jenkins Barton. Wish I knew how to make scans better, but guess that is why I was kicked out of Kidagardening!

TODAY IS SUNDAY, BUT NO CHURCH. MAYBE THEY HAVE CHANGED THE LOCATION
I don't listen to the TV News, and no paper, but I thought I would at least go to the Chapel to make sure we paid my grandfathers full tithing to the LDS Church. He died in 1947, a few weeks before I was born, but since I have his middle name, I thought I would do as he was said to be a very religious man, and would never speak unkindly of people, saying "If you couldn't speak good words of somebody, it is better to to say nothing". Well, working in various governments where Politician's are supposed to be Servants of the People instead of Servants of Themselves, I have had 46 Years of called many of them loafer's from Hell. Sorry Grandpa, but I like to be honest and that just may be the reason 3 out of 4 Governor's didn't like me writing Constitute letters for them. My Grandpa-Wm. Jones never believed in working on the Sabbath either. The only exception was to get the horses out of the Mire or to feed them. I got thinking about that, and decided to go feed the neighbors horses as their tender was in Church and they were stuck in the mud. On my return, the Horse Gal told me that Church was canceled as a Bad Guy was on the loose. I then went back to check the sheds with a Pitchfork. No bad folks, but it was a good day as I punched a Raccoon out of the Oats. I wonder if the bad guy was the same man wandering around the now vacant house by Burraston? Tens of Thousands Illegals are already in America, and many have been told by our Federal folks, who have our hard earned dollars-that they should go to Utah, and to rural towns where "good" Christians live! They should have reminded those free loafers that many of us carry concealed weapons and more than what Barney Fife carried. Back to Church now. In going through the papers of William Jones, I found that the LDS Church may actually owe my Grandpa .35 cents, as he paid $1.00 for tithing, but his Old Age Assistance(before Social Security) had been reduced to $7.50 a month. I can't call Bishop A.E. Smith anymore, but knowing or feeling Will's kindness, I think we will chalk it up as gift to the new Nephi, Utah Temple but don't celebrate yet. It is just my own revelation, not the official vision from the Prophet.
