So who in the world are these two Juab County guys, and what do they have in common. Well, the printed word is one connection. The first photo is that of Roy E. Gibson, who was the man at the Nephi Times-becoming the editor in 1942. The next guy is Jack Pace, who was raised by his school teaching mother-Alean Sperry Pace. Actually, he was also raised by his two aunts and two uncles, who all lived together in the old Sperry abode on the corner of 7th North and Main. Jack was the student body president of Juab High; track and field star; basketball man and in the band. He then became a 2nd Lt. in the Army and served five years during World War Two, commanding anti-aircraft units; then another two years in the Korean War and retired as a Colonel. His main work was as the well known printer of the Pleasant Grove Review. The other connection is that Jack married a Gibson(Afton), and it was his father in law(Abe Gibson) that helped him get a start in the paper printing press properly.
