They didn't have TV's; I-Pods or I-Pods to look at in 1873, but Nephi folks did have 3-D Stereoscopic views to gaze at.
Before the modernization of camera type images, somebody in my family had a lot of 3-D photos to look at. That was in 1873. As a kid, I recall using the Stereoscopic viewer to look at photos, which would put the double photograph up close and personal. Although I haven't came across the viewer yet, we do have some of the still shots, with these two showing what is described on the back as "Modern Courtship---No. 507", and the other one being "Indian Payment D-1".
